Heath has a BA in English from Curtin University. He graduated from the Directing course at WAAPA where he acted as assistant director on Bobbin’ Up (dir. Rhys McConnochie) The Tempest (dir. Kate Cherry) and Batboy (dir. Jason Langley) as well as directing The Gun in History, Titus Andronicus and co-directing The Caucasian Chalk Circle. While studying he also directed Ionesco’s Macbett for John Curtin College of the Arts, was an attachment on MTC’s King Lear (dir. Simon Phillips) and wrote and directed the short film Frosting. Since making the move from Perth, Heath has directed Nazanin for Short and Sweet 06, Thrilling Hostage Melodrama At High Speeds With Pineapple for Short and Sweet 07 (Winner – Best Comedy) and
Kanat and the Red Army (Runner Up - Best Director & Special Mention -
Best Production) for Short and Sweet 08. Heath plans to continue directing, writing and performing in his adopted city of Melbourne.
